About

About Truth in Focus

Truth in Focus is an independent Bullcoming Enterprises newsroom and public-service publication focused on eastern Montana, with particular attention to Rosebud County, the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, and nearby communities that are often underserved by larger media organizations.

Our purpose is straightforward: look at the record, follow the facts, ask the questions, explain what the information means, and give readers a practical way to understand issues affecting their communities. Coverage may include local and tribal government, education, public services, infrastructure, employment, community resources, courts and public records, history, and other issues with a meaningful local impact.

Truth in Focus separates straight news from analysis, opinion, press releases, and any future advocacy work. Steve’s Corner is labeled OP-ED. Press releases are labeled as source material. Investigations are built from records, interviews, direct evidence, and requests for response rather than rumor alone.

Who We Are

Steve

Steve founded Truth in Focus and serves as its primary writer, editor, researcher, and developer. His background includes public administration, computer networking, education, community service, and journalism experience dating back to his high-school newspaper, where he served as business manager and also wrote articles. Truth in Focus brings those interests together through local reporting, public records, technology, education, and community information.

Corry

Corry is part of the family and community perspective behind the development of Truth in Focus. Corry is Northern Cheyenne. Truth in Focus does not treat Steve’s marriage to Corry as authority to speak for the Northern Cheyenne people. Reporting about Northern Cheyenne communities should rely on Cheyenne voices, public records, direct sources, history, and community context.

Independent, Local, and Still Growing

Truth in Focus is being built from the ground up. We are developing our own newsroom tools, publishing workflow, resource library, community contacts, and reporting systems rather than presenting ourselves as a large established media company. We welcome story ideas, corrections, documents, press releases, contributors, and community knowledge. Readers should always be able to tell what is reported fact, what is analysis, what is opinion, and what comes from an outside source.
