Records Room Updates

The current records and source-document update log is maintained at records.truthfocus.net. This is a historical October 2026 update retained for reference. A dated, public-facing log of meaningful changes to records that Truth in Focus has cataloged, corrected, or added to its research collections. This is not an activity log for every internal working file, and a document’s presence in our research collection does not mean it has been published or independently authenticated.

October 8, 2026 โ€” Review of Northern Cheyenne records

Council removal resolutions: Reviewed a copy of DOI-020 and DOI-021 (2026), recording the September 30 vote concerning President Gene Small and the interim appointment. The accompanying October 1 transmittal bears a BIA Northern Cheyenne Agency received stamp dated October 2. A received stamp documents receipt, not necessarily federal approval.

Election records: Reviewed a Council-issued notice addressing the November 3, 2026 Tribal Council election, the decision not to hold a primary, write-in voting, candidacy deadlines, and referenced court orders. See our independently labeled developing election update for the outstanding verification questions.

Financial resolutions: Identified DOI-017, DOI-018 and DOI-019 (2026) for review concerning tribal budgets, a proposed general-fund transfer and the Legacy Fund. These records are being assessed; appearance in this log is not a finding of misuse or an endorsement of the Council’s interpretation.

Council minutes organization: Began checking scanned meeting minutes against their original page headings rather than assuming archived filenames or year folders are correct. Verified and corrected the catalog placement of September 29, 2017 special-session minutes (formerly filed as 9-29.pdf in 2018), January 3, 2023 regular-session minutes (formerly filed as 1.3.23.pdf in 2022), and the filename for October 13โ€“14, 2020 special-session minutes. Original Drive file IDs and document contents were preserved. This organizational work does not mean the complete archive has been verified.

What each update means

Added โ€” a new item is listed or made accessible in a collection. Reviewed โ€” newsroom staff have examined a copy or relevant pages; verification may still be underway. Corrected โ€” a title, date, label, link, or placement was fixed without altering the historical content of the original. Superseded โ€” a newer version replaces a working copy, with the prior reference retained where practicable. Restricted / not public โ€” a record may be held internally because of privacy, source protection, copyright, or verification concerns.

How records are verified

We compare document titles and dates with content, identify issuing offices and signatures, separate public statements from underlying orders, check for duplicates or pages belonging to the same document, and maintain provenance wherever possible. Copies of allegations, reports, or filings do not automatically establish that their claims are true or that they were accepted by a court or agency.

See our general Site Updates & Changes log for website-wide changes, and our Corrections & Revision Policy for editorial corrections.

Submit a record or correction

Have a complete resolution, dated notice, certified court order, or original scan that helps verify a record? You may submit documents to Truth in Focus. Please include the issuing organization, document date and any available provenance. We review materials before publication and may withhold identifying or sensitive details.
