Truth in Focus is following a developing situation this morning at the Little Wolf Capitol Building involving a meeting concerning an effort to remove Northern Cheyenne Tribal President Gene Small.
According to video and activity being monitored this morning, community members gathered outside the building have raised concerns about access to the proceedings and are calling for the meeting to be open to the public rather than conducted behind closed doors. Several speakers have emphasized that the tribal building belongs to the people and that tribal members deserve to know what is happening inside.
People at the scene have also raised concerns about the treatment and removal of individuals from the building, including women and elders. Truth in Focus has not yet independently verified the circumstances surrounding those incidents.
President Gene Small also appeared outside the building and spoke about wanting what he described as a fair hearing and fair process.
This remains a developing story. Truth in Focus is working to obtain additional video, direct quotations, statements from those involved, and clarification from tribal officials before publishing a fuller report.
We will update this story as information is verified.
Developing story: Details may change as additional information becomes available and is independently verified.
